Hope and Powerlessness

Dear Mike,

My son has been at the Family Foundation School since February, 2004, and I am so relieved and full of hope. I first heard about FFS several years ago at an AA meeting from a young man who had recently graduated. I was expressing my powerlessness over my son during the meeting, and this young man approached me afterwards (I am a recovering alcoholic of almost 10 years). After I viewed your website, I knew it was the right place for us, and I later came up to see the school.

Unfortunately, I could not afford the school, and my school district would not approve the tuition funding. I had to go through the channels of having him placed at another out-of-district school, which didn’t work out. Finally, my son got arrested again, and our school district agreed to pay the tuition if we were to get a court order sending him to The Family Foundation School. We drove him to FFS immediately from the courthouse.

…I know that there is no amount of money in the world that could repay you and your staff for saving my son’s life, and I will be forever grateful for your school.
