Note of gratitude from an alumni of the Family Foundation School:
Mike,
I might have left already or am about to, but I wanted to write you to let you know what an impact you’ve made on my life. You were willing to give me a chance when I had burnt every other bridge that I had. I don’t know if you know the mind state I was in when you called me into that meeting to become the manager. I was completely shut down to everything and everyone. I really felt helpless and that the interview was just going to be another ripping session where someone would just take my inventory for me again and I would feel rejected yet once again. God must have had something else in store for me because that didn’t happen – I definitely didn’t expect you to look at me with such love and compassion, when the words came out of your mouth, “I want to help you”, I thought I would fall out of my chair. I listened to what you and Renee said to me that day, and even though I didn’t recognize it, God sparked the first spark of willingness inside of me that say. The softball season and getting to know you has truly touched my heart. You’re probably the only male besides my Dad that I’ve ever felt any close attachment to. I feel comfortable enough to say that I look at you as a father figure and the way you have treated me and loved me I will remember forever. Thank you do much for helping re-kindling love in my heart. I was so cold and detached from people at one time. The day after graduation will be going to work as a counselor at a Church Sports Camp for teenagers. I’m hoping I can give to them what I’ve learned from you. I will miss you Mike and I love you.
